Over easy egg, chocolate chip pancake, oven baked bacon, and homemade oatmeal with banana. Just need to replace the oatmeal with grits, add biscuits n gravy, and quadruple the portions and then this would be a good example of a full American breakfast.
It was leftover bacon (what a communist concept) from dinner last night:
Double burger with Swiss topped with pickles, onions, tomato, avocado, and bacon. Homemade fried potatoes spiced with copious amounts of blackened seasoning. One of my roommates always assumes I've cooked fish when I use that seasoning.

I had grits and spam for supper last night. And a ham & cheese hot pocket.

I see you are a man of good taste with that extra crispy bacon! I’ve been beginning to prefer oven baked over pan recently.

Biscuits and gravy is amazing when it doesn’t suck.

Pretty good! Add berries, and pecans for the oatmeal.
You appear to have murdered that bacon.

I can't eat it any other way! I was lazy and cooked it at 350 for about a half hour. Usually do 275 for just over an hour or 200 with super thick bacon for 3+ hours

I had a girlfriend years ago who always did oven-crispy. The GF didn’t last but good bacon is forever...
BTW, (I think they have a Sprouts near you...) I’m now hooked on Sprouts “natural cured” bacon in the organic section. I’m shocked at how good their bespoke bacon is.

That store is hipster as fuck. I’m more of a Ralphs guy. But here in Malibu there is obviously even more hipster stores. Vintage grocers near Zuma is a key example. I generally go into oxnard/ Camarillo for groceries though since gas is cheaper there and there’s more “normal” stores. I’ve gone to sprouts for their deli before, they do a lunch special for like $4 you get a small sandwich with chips. Ill have to check out their bacon selection some time then!

Interesting, I’ve been doing thick cut at 4oo for 30 + minutes. It works decently but might have to try to low and slow method.

Chewy bacon is the bane of human existence. Sometimes I'm convinced hotel buffets have boiled their bacon. And pan frying it is no substitute for oven baked! I do it when I'm in a rush but it just never comes out the same. If the bacon doesn't crumble when biting it, it's not crispy enough. It's a totally different crisp than just burnt on a pan too. And the thicker the bacon the better but it does take longer to crisp all the way through.

I put a tiny dab of maple syrup on the pancakes. And there were like a dozen Chocolate chips. And TWO whole bacon slices. I'm gonna die early, RIP. FFFFFFF

Yes, that's way too high! 300 is a good number to start at before you go into crazy town where the bacon keeps getting thicker and the Temps keep going lower. I've dreamt of cooking 1 inch thick slabs of bacon for 8+ hours and experiencing what that tastes like. It's like a fucking high to chase lol.

I made bacon this morning (in a big pan) and it turned out perfect (for me). Pretty c rispy on one the leaner side and tender and chewy on the other...
We do oven bake ours sometimes - it’s great for a big crowd.
Do you eat your steaks well done? =)

I like my steaks still mooing. But I like most of my meats cooked low and slow for the tenderness and flavor profile. Steaks/burgers are the one cook super hot and make sure they are nice and juicy in the middle.

So your bacon preference is a complete outlier.

No, the bacon still gets cooked low and slow. But yeah texture wise brisket is probably the only other meat where I want some gnarly char to it.

I like the contrast of crunchy/crispy/chewy with moist/tender.
